Steps to create a website

1
Request your website

Your request will be analysed by the OpenUM team.

2
First meeting : Identification of your needs and objectives

A member of the OpenUM team will meet the person in charge of the website to be created in order to properly evaluate his needs and preferences, as well as guide him through the process of choosing the modules, color scheme, homepage presentation, etc. Please note that the presence of the person responsible of the website (professor or director of the research center) is mandatory for this step of the process. He may however be accompanied by a person of his own choosing (e.g. his research assistant)

Cost supported by OpenUM (~ 30 min to 1 h)

3
Creation of the website

The website is created by the OpenUM team, in accordance with the requests that have been formulated. All the necessary visual supports (logos, images, etc.) must be provided beforehand by the user.

Costs supported by OpenUM (1 to 2 h)

4
Website delivery

A member of the OpenUM team will present the build website to the user, and will gather all possible edits.

Costs supported by OpenUM (~ 15 min for the appointment, ~ 30 min to 1 h for the edits)

5
User training

The user will receive a personalized training to the OpenUM platform used to create his website, which will allow him to autonomously manage his website. Please note that the presence of the person responsible of the website (professor or director of the research center) is mandatory for this step of the process. He may however be accompanied by a person of his own choosing.

Costs supported by OpenUM (~ 1 h)

6
Website content editing

The user proceeds to fill the website with the relevant content (such as publications, lectures, speaking engagements, etc.).

In order to facilitate this step of the process, a team of specifically trained assistants are available to proceed to the filling of information in a quick and professional manner. If he prefers, the user can also chose to entrust a person of his own choosing to accomplish this step of the process. (However, in that case, this third party must have previously attended the training for the platform on which the website is based on).

This step is not supported by OpenUM
(5 to 30 hours, depending on the length of the resume or the website complexity)

7
Quality control prior to launch

The OpenUM team will proceed to the verification of each section in order to ensure the content editing. If need be, modifications will be made to the website or its content so that the overall presentation of the website is fluid and polished. The user will validate every change that has been made.

Costs supported by OpenUM (~ 2 h)

8
Launch

Once the website has been validated by the person responsible of the website and by the OpenUM team, it will be launched online, and therefore, becomes publicly accessible. The OpenUM team will also publicize the launch on its website as well as social media accounts.

Costs supported by OpenUM (1h)
